Designing an Identity Connected to Place and People
The visual identity for Park Slope Christian Tabernacle was developed with inspiration drawn directly from its neighborhood. Park Slope’s character, warmth, and sense of community served as the foundation for the design approach. The logo was built around a clear narrative that reflects both the location and the strong, welcoming faith community that gathers there. The result is an identity that feels local, meaningful, and aligned with the organization’s mission to connect with people throughout the neighborhood.
A Unified Identity That Connects Architecture, Community, and Faith
The final identity brings together the key elements that shape Park Slope’s character. The logo’s structure draws from the rounded window forms found throughout the neighborhood, giving the mark a familiar and grounded feeling that reflects its environment. At the center, the intersecting shapes create a subtle reference to the church’s mission and shared community spirit, expressed in a way that remains modern and understated. The palette uses warm, natural tones inspired by the area’s brownstones and tree-lined streets, supporting a calm and welcoming presence. As a complete system, the identity is designed to feel local, meaningful, and aligned with the organization’s role within the Park Slope community.
